BUSKİ Sludge Incineration and Power Generation Plant

Project Description

The project includes all construction, mechanical and electrical works for the direct incineration and electricity generation of dewatered sludge obtained from BUSKİ Wastewater Treatment Plants in Bursa at the Fluidized Bed Sludge Incineration Plants that have a daily wet sludge capacity of 400 tons and also treat waste gas.

The plant includes 2 parallelly-operating incineration systems with a capacity of 200 tons of wet sludge per day. Each incineration system includes a sludge refill system, heat recovery boiler and waste gas treatment system. There is one common turbine system for both systems. The plant that was made operational by Kuzu Group in 2017 includes one steam turbine generator with which 2,500 KW of electricity/hour is generated.

In Bursa, there are a total of 5 advanced biological wastewater treatment plants, 4 pretreatment plants and 67 pumping stations, 42 package treatment stations, 8 drinking water treatment plants, 65 natural wastewater treatment plants and a transfer center. Some of these plants/facilities are listed below:

BUSKİ Orhangazi Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant:
An advanced biological wastewater treatment plant located in Bursa’s Orhangazi with a capacity of treating a total of 19,200 m3 of advanced biological wastewater per day.
BUSKİ İznik Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant:
An advanced biological wastewater treatment plant located in the İznik area with a capacity of treating a total of 8,800 m3 of advanced biological wastewater per day.
BUSKİ Yenişehir Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant:
An advanced biological wastewater treatment plant located in the Yenişehir area with a capacity of treating a total of 7,060 m3 of advanced biological wastewater per day.
BUSKİ Orhaneli Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant:
An advanced biological wastewater treatment plant located in the Orhaneli area with a capacity of treating a total of 1,000 m3 of advanced biological wastewater per day.
BUSKİ Karacabey Wastewater Treatment Plant:
The plant has a total capacity of 8,500 m3/day and treats a total of 4,000 m3 of wastewater per day. The plant consists of extended aeration activated sludge process, fine grids, sand-holding tanks, a transfer station, dispersion structure, aerobic – non-settling lagoon, facultative
lagoon, chlorination unit and sludge drying beds.
BUSKİ Yenice Wastewater Treatment Plant:
The plant has a total capacity of 3,500 m3/day and treats a total of 3,000 m3 of wastewater per day. The biological plant that incorporates an extended aeration activated
sludge process, consists of fine grids, sand-holding tanks, a transfer station, dispersion structures, an aeration lagoon, a settling lagoon, a return sludge pumping station, a sludge thickener, and sludge dewatering (belt filter) units.
BUSKİ Kurşunlu Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant:
A biological treatment plant located in the Gemlik area with a total capacity of 6,280 m3/day.
BUSKİ Akçalar Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant:
A biological treatment plant located in the Nilüfer area with a total capacity of 4,560 m3/day.
BUSKİ Küçükkumla Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant:
A biological treatment plant located in the Gemlik area with a total capacity of 5,350 m3/day.
BUSKİ MKP Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant: A biological treatment plant located in the Mustafakemalpaşa area with a total capacity of 18,000 m3/day.
BUSKİ Nilüfer Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant:
A biological treatment plant located in the Nilüfer area with a total capacity of 16,500 m3/day.
BUSKİ Gemlik Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant:
A biological treatment plant located in the Gemlik area with a total capacity of 18,850 m3/day.
BUSKİ Mudanya Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant:
A biological treatment plant located in the Mudanya area with a total capacity of 21,850 m3/day.
BUSKİ Mudanya Advanced Pumping Station and Pretreatment Plant:
A pretreatment plant located in the Mudanya area with a total capacity of 25,000 m3/day.
BUSKİ Gemlik Wastewater Pretreatment Plant:
A pretreatment plant located in the Gemlik area with a total capacity of 27,000 m3/day.
BUSKİ Kumla Wastewater Pretreatment Plant:
A pretreatment plant located in the Gemlik area with a total capacity of 9,000 m3/day.
